Quick Answer
To frame an art print for your sewing room, choose a frame that complements your decor, use a mat to protect the print, and hang it at eye level.
Why Framing Matters for Your Sewing Space
A framed art print adds personality to your sewing room without taking up valuable table space. It also protects the print from dust, moisture, and fading, keeping your quilty art looking fresh for years.
Steps to Frame Your Art Print
- Choose the Right Frame: Select a frame that fits your print size (e.g., 8x10 for the Sometimes art print). Consider a simple wood or metal frame that matches your sewing room style. Common mistake: Choosing a frame that is too small or too large. Always measure your print first.
- Add a Mat for Protection: Use a mat board to create a border between the print and the glass. This prevents the print from sticking to the glass and adds a professional look. Checkpoint: Ensure the mat opening is slightly smaller than the print so it holds the print in place.
- Secure the Print and Hang: Place the print in the frame, secure the backing, and attach hanging hardware. Hang the frame at eye level in your sewing room, away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. Common mistake: Hanging in direct sunlight can cause the print to fade over time. Choose a spot with indirect light.
